This is getting release in a manga form as well

Also this as well, it's getting released in volumes like a manga and I think a lot of people understandably expect a series with a cohesive and progressing story. Same with the upcoming anime adaption.

It is still the Twitter doujinshi that is being published in physical copies, it is not like Sal Jiang's Ayaka-chan that changed after being commercialized, you can notice the changes from being a pixiv doujin to a comercialized work. This one goes directly to print as the author published it on her Twitter (maybe with some touch-ups)

I am aware of all of this, especially as someone that has bought the physical copies of Green Yuri and they are sitting on my shelf right now, and I've read the physical prints, and I'm still excited for the volume 4 release come October 27th. My point being is that some people only read the physical releases as they come out, and it's a different experience than reading it as it comes out on Twitter. You're getting more of a chapter to chapter feeling as you binge read it, which can add to the feeling of things being disjointed in the volume release format. Which as someone that also owns some paper comic collections as well, I feel like the expectations are generally different. Anyhow, another case of I think it's better to agree to disagree and move on lol

The ticket was introduced in this chapter, this is the first time we as readers are seeing it. But she said she was busy on the 10th because she has a club activity. The ticket is for the 10th. Her club is a movie club, so going to a concert doesn't really make sense as a movie club activity. Hence, the lie.

I think it's too early to say Aya lied when we haven't even see her perspective yet. Since it's a film club shes apart of, not a movie club; Film can refer to a movie and can mean to record and because of that, I feel like a "film club" has different implications than a "movie club" hence why I feel like the concert trip could be justified

I feel like wishing there was more growth is part of why people are upset. Lacking in growth, there's conflicts that haven't been resolved and people are conditioned to expect the worse so that when something does happen they don't crash out... lol

They've both grown a lot. They're just still growing. They'll be doing that forever. It's not really a straight line.

That doesn't mean I can stop wishing for growth. They've grown a little bit as people. They've grown a lot closer than they were when they were in high school. Mitsuki still sucks at communicating her problems

And even knowing it's not a straight line, that it's realistic for them to take a while to grow as people, I still feel how I feel, and I wish for growth or some kind of progression so we hear from Mitsuki herself what's up with her and see how they support each other and stuff

You'll get that as the chapters progress, because they're still growing. That was my point.

Nah, that's a huge reach. If someone said they were in a film club in college and then later said they were recording a concert professionally, I wouldn't assume that those activities are the same. Not to mention, if the band asked them to record the concert, they wouldn't be using a ticket. "To film" does mean to record, but there is no colloquial use of "film club" that wouldn't be about movies, so film club = movie club. And even in the case that a film or movie club is recording, they're usually making short films like in the manhwa Blooming Sequence.

More to the point, let's say there is some excuse Aya can give and this concert is somehow part of club activities, Aya and Mitsuki bonded over music so Aya just saying its a film club activity and not mentioning the concert would still be a lie of omission. And that she felt the need to lie is indicative of Aya feeling like she needs to treat Mitsuki with kid gloves.

I mean, even if she's not filming anything, if she's going with the people from her film club then it's still a "film club thing." It's such a vague phrase.

But it's also just possible that she passed it off as a club thing because she doesn't want to upset Mitsuki by inviting her to a music thing. Yeah, that's not the smartest way to go about the situation, but they're young, they still have a lot to learn about being in a relationship.

Honestly the only thing I would worry about is if she's going with that one girl from her club and nobody else. THAT would be playing with fire. Not because I think she's the sort to cheat, but because that is the kind of thing that would look REAL bad, even if it's innocent.

Triple length chapter? The scene transitions with the cups and the guitar were great.

My initial thought was "omg, they're turning all the girls gay".

I actually don't know where Sumiko-sensei is taking this. A love rival arc when they're already in a relationship is kind of weird, though a breakup/cheating arc is possible I guess, but I don't really think we're going that way. I think, as the whole manga has been going, this is still about music and connection. The theory that this is how Koga forms her new band makes a lot of sense to me, but I'm just down for the ride.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for this longer chapter!
Really love the transitions here and I feel like we're finally inching towards a proper setup. I mean, who knows what the next chapter will bring but I would love a more or less direct continuation for either Aya/Mitsuki or Shu/what's-her-face.

Hold up this chapter has more than 4 pages?!!?!

Ok going off these two pages, if a possible break-up arc is being set up, I don’t think it’ll be because of our main couple. I think it’ll be because of the two new characters who fell for them and are going to mess things up and start drama. As well as make the first move.

Can someone summarize all the plot threads going on in this chapter? It was too impressionist for my fried brain to follow. D:

TL here.

In this chapter, all the Japanese sentences between the scenes are actually connected from one place to another.

What the characters say and think is all part of the same stream. In Japanese, the thoughts of Shu and Rinko, the words of Mitsuki and Aya, all connect seamlessly. In line with the title and the theme.

I tried to render that, but I'm not sure it comes through properly in English.

Sumiko puts a lot more work into this than you think.

Thank you so much for this - it comes across great

Would really like Shu & Rinko come together through Mitsuki & Aya - for all their ups and downs, I can't see either of them cheating

Remember Aya and Mitsuki have to be romantically interested for this to matter and they're not. Doesn't matter if other people see the beauty in them and like them. That happens and should happen when our MCs are so awesome. Nothing in this chapter suggested Aya or Mitsuki reciprocates anything, or even realizes someone might like them. There's absolutely nothing to worry about at the moment. The author has thrown in as many "they are still fine and in love" chapters. She's been pretty blunt about that. I'm assuming this arc will go in a more unique direction and that's what she's been signaling by sandwiching everything in those reassuring chapters. It's cute seeing both girls on the same train completely defeated by the unintentional gravity both Aya and Mitsuki have.

Yes, it didn't really register first time around but this could be where Shu and Rinko become aware of each other.

To me this feels very do I want to be them or be with them kind of troupe from both new girls. I don't see a break-up coming at all neither are aware of the feelings from the two nor have they shown even the slightest bit of interest in them like that either.

Also I'm proud of Mitsuki here she.seems to be having the ideas of wanting to play again and this is the first time she's outright said she's scared to touch the guitar

Yeah, cool your jets about a potential breakup, this is really about the series' usual theme of the connecting power of music.

Yes that was a huge detail. She's definitely wondering about music again and there should be more discussion about that. Also music helped Shu-chan ignore the pain in her knee. It must have been so good to feel "pain free." I'm sure she'll be attending more concerts now. The way music was connecting people was so interesting in this chapter and I'm anticipating how that will continue. Maybe Shu eventually attends a Mitsuki event.

shu waits for aya and narita outside the bar, being grumpy. they go in, narita gets drinks, aya gives one to shu assuring her she will be fine once the gig starts. despite finding it loud, shu enjoys the show and finds she doesn't feel her injured knee as bad. she shares a moment with aya, thinking a world like this might be what she has always wanted to be connected to

at the same time, rinko ends up making extra drinks, so she takes one to mitsuki, who is looking at a guitar. mitsuki admits it scares her, and rinko tells mitsuki how cool and invincible she seems to her, and expresses her own worries about connecting with others. mitsuki shows her a picture of how she used to be at school. they also share a moment, rinko thinking a person like this might be what she has always wanted to be connected to

cut to them sitting across from each other on the same train home, presumably thinking gay thoughts
