Just a heads up to everyone, the green-haired goon with their leaves hanging out is not the same person as Junna’s former green underling.

Junna’s flashback to her time as a general shows her underling with pointy ears. The one on the ground has round ears. Unless the author retconned that design, they’re different people. So we may still see her former underling in the future.

Also no hear piercing and a very different outfit.

I'm glad I'm not the only one hoping underling-chan is well and coming back.

The NTR and uncomfortable SA threat isn’t something I expected from this series…it felt more Sword Art Online v_v

Chapter 26 feels like it's in a different storyline.
Hane never was as overt as to call Junna her first love, right? And the even if it's a time skip, either forward or backward, the way Junna is acting all blushy and shy again (seemingly genuinely, not as an act) feels out of sync with her Dark Souls-parry against Hane's fireworks confession.
It almost feels like there were two pitches for the storyline, and the author decided to write both??

Agreed. The "gonna make her my concubine!" really felt jarring, and out of nowhere.

yeah, and she wouldnt have to confess if she had already confessed already? also, how does this apply to the last chapter? when did this happen? is this a flashback?

Was this chapter meant to be sad or erotic

sad i think
if it was meant to be erotic then it was only uncomfortable in my opinion

I feel like the author blindfolds us, spins us in a chair and throws us somewhere random in the timeline and with the little context we got we have to figure out when where why and wtf is happening

I love and hate it equally

Okay people....This whole chapter 26 was very confusing since Hane saying "I want to protect my first love(CONFESSION?))" Then cue scene where we see Junna witness Hana and the other girls defeated makes me thinks and believes this is all a bad dream she been having or thinking and worrying about as a possibility. I am going to assume Junna doesn't have any magic related to future sight.

This guy is also likely the guy/possible other high-rank member (One of likely the other 2-3 generals like Junna. I am assuming there are like 2 to 3 other similar high level general like Junna in the evil hollow gaze organization) that Junna hates, remember the guy who send her white flowers and dress that Junna burns them.

Also the evil big leader/boss of the organization is dead according to this dream/ALTERNATIVE if route but can be revived by possessing another powerful magical girl body (Though the boss would probably be pissed off having to use a body defiled by one of her/his horny scumbag creepy assault subordinates...)

Junna doesn't want to get NTR...That would be all kind of levels of f*cked up...Valid crash out (Either killing Hane and the other girls as their magical girls selves= turning them back to normal girls without magic= they won't be targeted as possible victims in the future but this is assuming the evil organization won't target them for revenge and pettiness even as weak normal humans...Or the more more disturbing mess up route of killing them so Junna won't witness that possibility happening before she press Delete on herself and all the evil organization members.)

Because if this really happened then there been no signs or clues that this ever happened to Hane and the others at all....If this is happening right now at this moment (Canon moment instead of a bad dream/worry/ALTERNATIVE IF ROUTE that Junna is dreading and fearing about) then the author must be going crazy and want their fans to be screaming in panic lol XD

Basically option below"
1-Junna's bad dreams/worry about possibility of this happening (Junna thinks she might be even weakening the magical girls= making this possibility future happen)
2- This is just a scare chapter/ The bad ending ALTERNATIVE NTR ROUTE IF ENDING (Basically Junna's bad dream where she gets NTR)
3- this is actually canon or is happening right now at this moment which very very low chance (What happen to all of Junna's gathering magical powers and trying to get stronger? This option is only possible if the author want to ruin their story and have fun messing up their fans and reader mentally for fun lol XD...It less than 5% but it is never 0%...I seen a few authors who loved making messed up storyline scenarios and plot for fun...Or making messed up ending and chapter when they are told their story will be ending or being forced to finish...Those rare author crashing out and destroying their story at the end...But like I said...Like 4-5% chance of this happening, very very low chances of this being canon...)
4-SOME OTHER OPTION HERE- INSERTED-

As mentioned by rudtud at the end of the chapter (and a note in the pixiv upload) this entirely takes place in the past from Junna's perspective this time. The assumption here is that it basically happen right after Junna was defeated. We get the scene of her recovery and then sometime after that, Floria Knights gets wrecked by this cur as a result of the fight with Junna taking such a toll on them.

I did want Junna's past to be explored but I guess it became a monkey's paw especially since the series kinda runs on dropping bombshells.

I do like the callback to chapter 5. As for the first love line, I'll give the author the benefit of the doubt in the sense that Hane isn't exactly confessing persay. There is something to be said about properly confessing vs implying someone was/is their first love they want to protect after just wanting to be regular friends earlier, it's hard to explain so you can crucify me for it.

The pain point the cur uses is that if Junna loses to Floral Knights, then with her being so "weak", then the Floral Knights aren't such a big deal. Junna's pride on both her loss to Hane and her love for Hane seems to fuel what would become the Junna we see in the present last chapter. One who helps the Floral Knights as the anti-hero halfway magical girl seeking to get a rematch with Hane someday.

The whole concubine line is just cringe that will probably get the cur killed next chapter (implied with the strawberry charm being the starting point for Junna to recover her powers) but he also mentions that the lord of evil group is looking for a new body after the previous was destroyed, with Hane being a potential canididate which I guess there is that potential setup for later.

I'll let my soul be stained in black if that's what it takes

I agree, it's very interesting storytelling, but it can get a bit (veryyyy) confusing.

On that note, I think the scene with the branches is set in the future, I know Junna has long hair in that scene but hear me out:

-Junna's new powered version also has long hair so maybe after getting her full powers back she gets her long hair back
-Whenever Hane is transformed into Floria Rose she doesnt have her scars anymore, so her not having them in the branches scene is not an indication that this is in the past.
-The scene is set when Floria Rose and the other Floria knights are defeated, which is something Junna is planning to do in the present.
-Junna is talking about how it can't end like this

which leads me to believe this is set after a future battle where Junna defeats the Floria Knights, then as she's about to defeat Hane, Junna looses her power again and Hane is now too weak to stop the other person from attacking her.

I also agree with the credits that Hane talking about "wanting to protect her first love" might be more of an admission that she had a childhood crush on who she thought was Junna, not exactly confessing outright that she loves Junna at the moment.

I am going to bring back some people mentioning Junna's low self esteem and I think we see inkings of this. The pain point the cur uses is the fact that Junna being weak = Floral Knights being weak. Junna's pride on both her loss to Hane and her love for Hane seems to fuel what would become the Junna we see in the present last chapter. One who helps the Floral Knights as the anti-hero magical girlish/former demon general in order to get a rematch with Hane.

I hope this gets picked up by proper publisher and the author is given a good editor. Some professional dirction could really help.

Remember to check the credits page since that does point out Junna has her long hair in this chapter. Also something no one has mentioned is that it seems that "Gonna die a brutal death at Junna's hands" person mentioned that their Lord's body is gone and can be brought back with a vessel...and they are aiming for Hana's body to be that vessel. (Also poor Sou, getting Yamcha pose'd by the vines)

I am putting my chips on the whole chapter being set in the past, since not only is Juuna not wearing a Yukata (or her present day Evil General outfit) anymore, but if you pay close attention, the shape on Hane's brooch is a diamond, which is the shape it used to have back when she was smol (if you'll notice, present day Hane's brooch has always had a spade shape instead

However, you'll notice that the brooch also has a diamond shape in the hospital scene, which presumably takes place after Hane defeated Juuna (and incidentally, this is the first time we're seeing Big Hane with the diamond brooch) But wait! We see in this page that the brooch was already spade-shaped when Hane took down Juuna! And in this page, which is presumably from Juuna's POV right now, we see Hane with both versions of the brooch, which wouldn't make sense if this was set in the past!

It would be easy to say it was just a continuity error but going back and double-checking every chapter the author has been 100% consistent in having it be diamond = past Hane and spade = present Hane. So while i'm about 80% sure this whole chapter is set in the past I just really can't figure this one part out.

But all that aside, yeah I was really not a fan of the "het-rape-doujinshi-captured-Magical-Girl-scenario" vibes in this chapter, like it was about the last trope I expected this series to use and it felt kinda icky lol.

This is a great observation! I don't actually have a satisfying answer for this. The only thing that came up is that maybe diamond / spade represents power levels at the time. If we take the chapter at it's words in regards to their big fight resulting in Floral Knights being much weaker (assuming this isn't Junna's dream sequence) then it could be that diamond!Hane is her initial starter or stage 1 form. Spade!Hane is her full power or evolved form. Think like Super Saiyan -> Super Saiyan 2 kind of deal. (I think there is a magical girl equivalent) Again, I am just spit-balling here if it isn't a continuity error.

Edit: Great, now I went back and reread the entire series just to get a look of the visual difference between Spade!Hane and Diamond!Hane. Another thing I want to add is that Junna's magical girl? form in the previous chapter (Chapter 25) also displays diamonds. (again, it could mean anything lol)

Edit 2: Ignore the part about Junna having diamonds meaning anything because it's more so a reference to her evil general form which also incorporate diamonds.

@Itsy Bitsy Spooder

Thanks for the compliment! I am happy you found it helpful.

Looking at that sparkling charm there, I think we're about to see Junna (re-?)awaken as a magical girl.
