In the future please provide more context and sources. This ties into the whole social media drama game of telephone that's meant to rally pitchfork mobs and make people stop supporting a series, and it's always awful, especially with how common it is with Yuri and adjacent series.

I had to look into this and it seems there's way more to this situation than what you're saying. This Reddit post and the comments seem to imply the light novel adaption MIGHT have issues but the writer for that might have only issues with a specific Yuri series. There seems to be a whole issue of translation, context, and people running with narratives with this whole situation. It also means the anime could still entirely be Yuri.

The person they commissioned to do a LN adaptation is not writing the anime so who cares? I kind of think it's insane to expect everyone who works on a yuri to be a diehard fan and I'm sick of people doomposting every time something like this comes up.

Also, not to sound a bit clueless by saying this, but does it really matter if the ship turns out to be canon or not if (I mean it does but still), from the beginning, it was never labeled as yuri, While I’ll admit it would be really nice and honestly, great if it were yuri, if that’s not the intentional direction of the story, then straight to Twitter and Dynasty we go for some lovely yuri fan art and fan comics. ;)

One of the worst things about series like this not sticking the landing is the doomers getting to go "LOOK I WAS RIGHT AND YOU WERE WRONG!". When the whole point is I want stories like this to stick the landing and the relationship, which is something I think we all want, or at least most of us do. Also my point stands that in my opinion I don't think it's good to doom a series weekly as it's airing, instead it's better to let it play out till the end. When I last commented on doom posting people were dooming the series because of her being in the part of the story where we she has to engage with the boy to get over him...which did happen. The series didn't have a hetero ending like some doomers thought it would have, instead it just kind of has a...nothing end. I feel like hopeful people such as myself and doomers alike both lost here ultimately regardless of which of us was "right".

I also refuse to not have hope for future stories, and I will continue to have hope despite the stories that haven't stuck their landings and the doomers that want me to not have hope. No I will persist and continue to have hope!

Well I'm happy that you're hopeful, I think that's a pretty good attitude to have in life.
Me personally I just want better from these creators, we're not in the 1970s anymore, gl stories don't have to continue doing these tragic or mediocre endings, they don't have to keep giving us fake outs or comp-het, which I know wasn't the case here. If straight stories get to have satisfying conclusions I don't see why we can't demand the same from these writers.

We’re in agreement here I think, as what I’m saying is that I’ll continue to be hopeful for better conclusions. While I also agree with demanding for those improvements.
